Photojournalism

Just a few words from me today, as I’m beginning my cross-country journey this afternoon. I haven’t quite finished my packing.

I want to give you all some advice. This is monumental advice. Please listen carefully. Ready?

Take. LOTS. Of. Pictures.

You’re only in your twenties for ten years! For most people, it will be the most adventurous and eventful time of your life! Your twenties will be the most fun you’ve ever had, and the hardest you’ve ever lived. Take pictures. You will never be hotter. These are your years. Document them!

I’m saying this because I have been taking a lot of pictures lately. And then scrapbooking them. I absolutely love my life right now and I want to be remember it for all eternity… especially when I’m older and fatter and too tired from work and kids to stay up past 8:00 pm. (When the highlight of my year is a Lifetime Movie Marathon on a Sunday afternoon.)

In twenty, thirty, or forty years from now… I’m going to be living vicariously through my twentysomething photos.

We live in the digital age people, you really have no excuse.

I was just recently thinking about how I don’t take enough pictures. At all.

    Thanks!

I agree completely… except for one limitation… don’t let taking photos overshadow the enjoyment of the moment! It is the moment you want to focus on, not capturing it.

  6. Maxie says:

I agree! I didn’t take enough pictures in high school so I’m taking as many as I can now.

This is so true! I’m always self-conscious running around snapping photos but I’m so thankful later.

Oh man, how I wish digital cameras were as popular when I was in my younger twenties..newly married and out on our own. There is just something very natural about keeping a digital camera with you, taking tons of pictures, using what you want..getting rid of what you don’t want.

I love my old film photos, but I have TONS of crap. Stuff that I had to get developed because it was on the roll of film. What a waste. Ha ha..and let’s not talk about the photo quality.

    In all honesty…

this really inspired me. I used to carry my camera EVERYWHERE I went and for some reason stopped at some point.

    No longer. :)
