another one of those posts
I’m 24 years old. This is the first year I have been registered to vote. To be honest, it’s the first time I cared enough to vote. The first time I’ve cared enough to watch the debates, to research the issues that are important to me and to want to vote.
I got chills this morning driving down South Shore Drive and seeing all the Obama signs as I passed. The radio talking about how it’s the 20somethings that are going to be the difference between who wins and who loses. It’s amazing seeing so many of my peers getting riled up, getting angry, being so passionate about what they believe in.
About who they believe in.
We have this opportunity to vote and so many others don’t. We have a chance to make our voice heard. Just decades ago women didn’t even have this right and now one is close to being second in command. Neither did African Americans and now one might be our leader.
It’s just amazing to me how far we’ve come and how we get to be a part of it.
It doesn’t matter who you vote for today.
Just vote.
Let your voice be heard.

Hooray! I’m so pumped for all you voters. Though, I definitely think it does matter who you vote for, I know what you are saying. Jon Stewart had a good moment at the end of his show last night where he lectured all the young people saying that every election, they are told they can be this huge driving force, and every election they let everyone down by sitting at home playing Super Mario Brothers. Fingers crossed you all prove him wrong this year!

Yeah! Chills, goosebumps, tears, all of that. I am going to blubber to night no matter what the outcome. I am so psyched!

I’m kind of ashamed to say it, but this is the first year I registered to vote as well. It’s amazing how strong everyone feels about this election. Watching the results tonight is going to be crazy and oh so exciting.

AMEN, sister. Seriously - EVERY overpass or bridge over the highway on my way in this morning had Obama folks holding signs, waving their hands, and I honked and waved back. The ONLY Republican sign I saw was for a guy running in our Senate race and that sign was just slapped up on a fence, no supporters, no people. It’s amazing to see where the passion really lies in this election. We (20s) are TRULY, truly hungry for change and rebirth in this nation. I am SO proud to be one of the “youth” voters! Shivers down my spine….!
