Testosterone injected.
Time to shake things up over here at Umm.. Now what?
Before you start reading, it’s my recommendation that you start off by putting this song on repeat. Hopefully that will get you ready for this post. At the very least, turn Britney off.
Thanks.
So far on this blog you have gotten the quarter-life breakdown from a bunch of lovely ladies. Their writing skills far surpass mine in every aspect, I can’t compete. However, I do think I can bring some valuable insight into the thought process of a twenty something guy. I also consider myself a valuable reference for anything that has to do with late 80’s, early 90’s pop culture. If you want to know what I think about spandex, snap bracelets, YO! MTV raps or Molly Ringwald, feel free to leave a comment. I’m an awesome trivia partner- just want to throw that out there.
With my first post, I really want to introduce myself to all the Umm… Now what? readers. I don’t plan to ramble on about breasts, cars and basketball (football is dead to me right now) but I’m sure these subjects will come up from time to time. With my first post, I want to talk about important features I value in women.
The irresistable trifecta of qualities I love (none of which have to do with beauty):
1. Wit: Wit is totally underrated and so few and far between that some guys just dont care about it. However, it’s very important to me, possibly most important. Sometimes, I think I have some sort of attention disorder but when I really think about it, it’s really just a matter of all the women I meet being boring. I was talking (well gchatting) to Brandy about this recently and she brought up a valid point about wit relating to education, in that, the more educated a person is, usually determines how witty they can be (I know that sentence was probably way too long and there should be a period in there somewhere but I just dont care, at all). I agreed but after thinking about it, I’ve met alot of women who were successful, educated, beautiful but very boring and dull.
2. Success: Before you start judging me, let me say that I am not looking for a sugar mama. Well, ok, maybe I am- but only because working everyday is so fucking lame. Seriously though, I’m not very materialistic, to me success isn’t defined by what one does for a living. Being successful in life doesn’t mean you’re some huge executive somewhere but it does mean that you are good at what you do and what you do is of some kind of importance and brings some level of responsibility with it.
3. Balanced: I look for someone in the middle. I have been with a great deal of party girls and a few goodie goody’s here and there and neither personalities work for me. As some people know, I like to party. Im not one to say no to an afternoon of drinking and trivia and delicious wings at the bar. So of course, I really want to find someone that wouldn’t have a problem doing exactly that. Then there’s the other side of my personality. The nerdy side, the side that likes to stay home and watch Entourage, The Jon Stewart Show, or read a book like Things I’ve learned from women who dumped me. It seems most girls are on one side of the spectrum or the other. If I meet someone at a bar, that obviously her thing- same goes for hunting at Barnes & Noble. Where is the middle ground?
Anyway, I hope you check in over here every Monday to read my ramblings. If you’re not already, you should be reading my blog because well, it’s awesome too.

It sounds like maybe you should marry me. Just sayin’. Because people tell me how they can’t figure out how I can party and be such an enormous grad school nerd.
Yes, I kick things off with a bang on our website by proposing to our new writer. Awesome!

Welcome! I’m the other newbie over here but it will be nice to read some male perspective on our quarter life woes

Hey dude! Great first post! I think you are right about meeting some educated people being really dull. I definitely think it goes the other way too- I know uneducated people who are witty too. I think though, the more educated you are- academically, or just worldly, the more you have to draw on in terms of humor. Instead you know, of just making jokes about pap smears and cocaine addictions like I tend to do.

Also, I have Britney on my ipod. I’m not even joking here. I just thought you needed to know the truth. You know, complete honesty and all that jazz.

Hm, new digs for Mondays? Not too shabby…
Looks like you aren’t just looking for Princess Pointful, but myself. LoL. I’m a huge dork, yet love to party. And combining the two - such as getting wasted with my friends while playing Mortal Kombat (DC v. Marvel on XBox) like Friday night - is a shit ton of fun, ha.

Great idea to have a man’s point of view on here.
And a very interesting point (or three!) it was.

Matt, you’re getting entirely too popular on the internet. You’re now blogging at TWO places? I guess it’s just because people love you.
